He Kaiwhakapuapua
Te Kura Tuarua o Taraika ki Pukeahu | Wellington High School is a co-educational school of 1,600 students, situated on Pukeahu. Rangatahi Māori make up 11% of our roll and we seek an innovative and strategic thinker to navigate our kura on the journey of ‘what is good for Māori, is good for all’. The Kaiwhakapuapua role is an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team and is supported by the kaimahi Māori of Te Rōpū Whakahaumaru.

He Kaiwhakapuapua will bring strategic leadership skills to uphold Te Tiriti principles and continue to build matauranga Māori within our kura in order to raise our waka to different areas, uplifting ākonga and working collaboratively with staff to support mana ōrite in curriculum delivery.
You will be confident holding space in kaupapa Māori settings, modelling positive Māori ways of leading and thinking, understanding and upholding the school’s values and guiding principles. Recent leadership experience in a New Zealand school, as well as fluency in te reo Māori is preferred but not essential.
Strong relationship management and communication skills are essential as you continue to promote a culture of achievement, engagement, and wellbeing, supporting whānau Māori, tauira Māori, kaiako Māori, te iwi Māori towards tino rangatiratanga within our school setting.
