Music Therapist vacancy (ORS funded students)

At the core of Te Kura Tuarua o Taraika ki Pukeahu (WHS) are Whānau, Excellence, Respect and Ora. Applicants will be committed to continuing the prioritisation of Mātauranga Māori and joining our kura on its journey to being bicultural. We are a coeducational non-uniform school located on Pukeahu. We have a growing relationship with Te Atiawa which supports our kura’s access to the wider community of Te Whanganui-a-Tara, and its potential local curriculum.

We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Music Therapist to join our He Kākano team from January 2025. This position will suit someone with experience of working with students who have complex intellectual and behavioural needs. Patience, resilience, adaptability and a willingness to learn are important qualities. Experience of working with students with autistic spectrum conditions is desirable.

This position is for two days per week, term-time only and is fixed-term for 2025 with the purpose of establishing a Music Therapy programme at WHS.
