Teacher Aide vacancy (ORS funded students)
At the core of Te Kura Tuarua o Taraika ki Pukeahu (WHS) are Whānau, Excellence, Respect and Ora. Applicants will be committed to continuing the prioritisation of Mātauranga Māori and joining our kura on its journey to being bicultural. We are a coeducational non-uniform school located on Pukeahu. We have a growing relationship with Te Atiawa which supports our kura’s access to the wider community of Te Whanganui-a-Tara, and its potential local curriculum.
We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Teacher Aide to join our Learning Support team from January 2025. An important part of the role will be working with a student, with complex intellectual and behavioural needs in a predominantly 1:1 situation, supporting this student to work in He Kākano and in the mainstream across a range of subjects. The successful applicant will support the student's learning, responding to individual needs and liaising with teachers.
This position will suit someone with experience of working with students who have complex intellectual and behavioural needs. Patience, resilience, adaptability and a willingness to learn are important qualities.
Experience of working with students with autistic spectrum conditions is desirable.
This position is for 15 hours per week, term-time only and is fixed-term for Term 1.
