Teacher Aide vacancy (ORS funded students)
At the core of Te Kura Tuarua o Taraika ki Pukeahu (WHS) are Whānau, Excellence, Respect and Ora. Applicants will be committed to continuing the prioritisation of Mātauranga Māori and joining our kura on its journey to being bicultural. We are a coeducational non-uniform school located on Pukeahu. We have a growing relationship with Te Atiawa which supports our kura’s access to the wider community of Te Whanganui-a-Tara, and its potential local curriculum.
We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Teacher Aide to join our Learning Support team as soon as possible. An important part of the role will be working with students with complex intellectual and behavioural needs to work in He Kākano and in the mainstream across a range of subjects.
This position is for 28 hours per week, term time only exclusive of annual leave. In addition to providing support for students in their classes, the applicant may provide supervision at breaktimes plus one-to-one care for individuals who need assistance with feeding and toileting.
This position will suit someone with experience of working with students who have complex intellectual and behavioural needs. Patience, resilience, adaptability and a willingness to learn are important qualities. Experience of working with students with autistic spectrum conditions is desirable.

This is a permanent, part-time position that may be offered as a fixed-term, part-time position dependent on the successful applicant's residency status.
